Day 32 | Walk as Children of Light...Say No to Darkness

Submitted By, Sis. Anne Streeter

As children of light, we have been called out of darkness into God’s marvelous light.  We have been called to live our lives in such a way that we may affect the lives of those living in a dark world…. a world festered with hate, racial discrimination, sexual immorality, a disregard for life, as well as a senseless war of brutal and inhumane attacks on innocent people in Ukraine. What else?  God’s Word reminds us of these things, which are to come, leading up to the end time.

As Children of Light, God has equipped us with the Holy Spirit to show goodness, love, compassion, and mercy to all mankind, showing no respect of person.  Because we have the love of God in us, and his character at the forefront of our minds and on the throne of our hearts, we can live a victorious life.  As we plant the seed of the Gospel, the Holy Spirit will shine in us and call out of darkness and into God’s marvelous light.  We thank God that He has chosen us to be “children of light” in a world of darkness. We thank Him so that we can say no to the evil of this world.

Lent is a divine moment of reflection in our lives, during which we can assess our walk with God and pray for repentance where we have fallen short.

Lenten Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank you for calling us out of darkness to be your light in the world. May our spiritual journey reflect your character in our everyday living.  May the work that we do, for the growing of your kingdom be acceptable to you, until the day of your return.  In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
