Day 35 | Esau Moments

Submitted By, Deacon Lissa Nelson-Neal

Pastor’s focus and teaching on ‘saying no’ in this season HAS resonated with me.  It has strengthened my resolve to say ‘No’  when my choices, actions and thinking fall short on the calling that God has on my life. I will strive to rebuke being less than the woman that God has called me to be.  I call these moments of struggle, my moments of being ‘less than’, my Esau moments.  I’ve made up my mind to not stay in those moments but to intentionally respond to my higher calling.  My Lenten commitment has been to set my intentions on not eating or drinking from any cup that opposes the vision God has for me.

Lenten Prayer

Gracious Lord, I thank you for this opportunity to say ‘No’ to other pursuits so that I could spend quality time with you.  Help me in my resolve to make choices that would honor you and draw me closer to You. I realize that You have some great things for me and I covenant to think and act in ways that glorify You.  Be pleased with my offerings, I pray, in Jesus’s name, Amen
