Day 36 | Giving Your Heart

Submitted By, Deacon Janet Gooding

This is a call of a father who does not want any of His children to miss out on the wonderful blessings He has in store for us.  God’s unconditional love is being expressed throughout His Holy Word the Bible.  This is a call for total submission of all that we are to the one who loves and cares for us the most.  By surrendering our hearts to Him, He can mold us to what He wants us to be.  I heard a true story about a young man who had no money to put on the collection plate. So he told the usher to rest the plate on the floor, which was odd of course but did it anyway. He then sat on the plate as his offering to the Lord.  That man by the name of Robert Moffat became one of the world’s finest missionaries.  Even when we think that we do not have anything to deny ourselves of, we can still give Him our hearts to use as He pleases.  What we give does not compare to the finished work on Calvary on that fateful Friday.  The joy of salvation is the greatest gift that our Father has awarded us.

Lenten Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me this opportunity one more time to reflect on the unconditional and undiluted love You have for us. I come before your throne as your humble servant asking for your grace to give up the things that prevent me from focusing on you and you alone.  Not just for my family, but for my MPC family as well, in Jesus’s mighty name I pray. AMEN
