Day 39 | He Knows

Submitted By, Sister Sherri Thorpe

Faith is about many things. It is about knowledge, patience, understanding and trust. Yet, it is also about confidence. Is one confident to trust God? Is one willing to make Him their personal confidante?

Many of us can say that growing up we were taught to go to someone about something that may be bothering us, something we are not sure of, to seek guidance and simply search for the right answer from our elders. We were groomed and trained as children and even into our adulthood to follow this.

God’s Word tells us to take things to Him in prayer.  Reading recently about prayer, it was written how Jewish parents raise their children from a young age teaching them different prayers and how to speak future blessings over and in their life.  They are prepped early to have a confident faith in their prayers to our heavenly Father.  They teach their children how important it is to have a consistent relationship and prayerful life with God as well as praying according to what God tells them as written in the Torah.  Most importantly, Jewish parents reinforced this practice by being examples of these teachings themselves.

God desires for us to make him first and trust Him wholeheartedly.  Many of us may have had to or are in the process of learning the principle of taking all in our hearts to the Lord in prayer.  We are in the process of renewing our minds to the will of God to be at a place in our faith where we have complete confidence in Him.

Today, before we pick up the phone to call someone, text a friend, reach out to a relative, ask a parent or send a message to a co-worker, let’s reach for the Word of God and with love and confidence find a quiet place to talk to the Lord.  Let us open our hearts and make our petitions known to God.  He is looking forward to hearing from you and is ready to listen.

With God, there is never a busy signal or call waiting to be next in line to be heard.

Lenten Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you, Lord, that you know our hearts and we can come to you about everything in our lives. We choose to walk by faith, tell you all of our issues, and know they are already answered. You are a caring and faithful God and we choose to knock on the door of your heart confident you hear us. Amen
