Day 40 | Time To Act

Submitted By, Elder Joy Williams

Now, this is Paul talking to the church of Philippi.  He’s letting them know that they have to think — having the right mindset — and they have to act. Often times, people will talk about verse eight. Well, this is what I hear often. And they never get to verse nine.

Really, we don’t want to get stuck in the paralysis of analysis. We really want to make sure that we move to verse nine and act. Sometimes that’s rooted in fear, why we’re not moving forward. During this time of Lent, we want to make sure we’re eliminating procrastination. We’re saying no to procrastination and we’re moving forward. And we’re getting rid of whatever fears that there are. God has told us what we should, through Paul here. How we should think and how we should act.

Lenten Prayer

Let us pray. Most heavenly and gracious Father, we thank you for blessing us with your Word that guides us in what we should do, how we should think and the way we should act. Thank you, Lord, for empowering us and reminding us to know that you are always with us, that you are always guiding us. Thank you for helping us through this day. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen
