Day 18 - Lent 2026

Mar 7, 2026    C.R. Eld. E.Magalene McClarrin

I WILL REST IN THE LORD

“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress; I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.”

Psalm 62:5-8

I am not my own; my soul cries out to her Creator, “You are the source of my strength and the strength of my whole being”. Father God, where can I go and You are not there? You are my universe; my world revolves around Your Son.  Who can I turn to when despair overtakes me, fear overwhelms me, and hopelessness pounds me senseless? Whom do I turn to? If not the Rock of my salvation?  If not the Author and Finisher of my faith?

You, Lord, You alone keep me from drowning in the vicissitudes of life, from the quicksand of each new day’s uncertainty; from the shattering frailty that lurks in every decision contemplated and every action taken.

Yes, my rest is in You and You alone.  My hope is wrapped in the loving arms of my Savior; my honor and my heart are kept safe in the fortress of my God. Hallelujah that You love me. Praise Your holy Name, my Father, my Brother, my Redeemer and Friend, the Guide who leads me down the paths of righteousness. Amen and Amen.

Let us pray,

Oh, Heavenly Father, hallowed is Your name in all the earth. You are the Rock of our salvation. The Stone of shalom, the Precipice of peace and comfort. You are righteous in Your judgment and merciful in justice. Thank You, Lord, for loving us by giving Your Son, our Savior, Jesus the Christ, who abides with us by the power of the Holy Spirit.

AMEN.
